Another lovely spring day but dry spell definitely a challenge from a racing perspective. Enjoy the nice mornings I say, rain will come! Ground was spot on at Carlisle yesterday and we were delighted with Bel Amigo following up in good style under his 7lb penalty, he looks a lovely prospect to look forward to. Artic Row didn’t quite last home up the hill but still ran respectably to be 6th, Dubai Days ran another excellent race to finish a close 2nd.

Hexham bound tomorrow where they had a decent drop of rain on Saturday night turning the ground good to soft, hopefully it won’t dry out too much and we have two runners starting with Maillot Blanc in the 2.50. He’s well handicapped on the form shown for his previous trainer and will hopefully prove that if his current trainer can ever find the key! Not sure Hexham ideal for him but he should be much more at home on this better ground though it might need to be Kelso or Perth before we see him at his best again – Bruce rides and 10 run.

Eagles Cairn runs in the bumper at 5.25, he showed heaps of improvement to be 3rd last time at Carlisle and whilst that form is yet to work out I’d expect him to improve again tomorrow, opposition is hard to assess but hopefully he will run well – Bruce rides and 8 run.

Lucky Soldier is unfortunately a non runner, our eagle eyed Team spotted that he had a slightly dirty nose this morning and whilst he appeared fresh and well at exercise we thought we better have him checked out and he did indeed scope badly, much better to have found that out today rather than put him through the stress of a race when not quite 100%. Usually we can sort this out in a few days, usually……
