Cooler today, but bright and remaining dry. Hexham tomorrow where the ground should have been well watered and will hopefully be on the soft side of good. We have two young horses making their debut over hurdles starting with Spectress in the 2.18. She ran no race at Sedgefield last time but was found to be in season, her previous start at Newcastle was promising so I would like to think she can run better again tomorrow albeit that being her debut over obstacles a clear confidence boosting round of jumping will be the main priority – Bruce rides and 14 run.

Similar story for Just an Artist in the 3.18, she had a nice introductory bumper at Musselburgh 3 weeks ago and loves jumping so can hopefully run well tomorrow – Bruce rides and 6 run.
Highly competitive racing at Ayr this weekend and our closest was an excellent 4th from Ned Tanner, we were happy with Ballyfort and My Lady Elektra though unfortunately Gaillimh a Stor weakened quickly and pulled up. He seemed absolutely fine afterwards but I strongly suspect his heartbeat went briefly arrythmic during the race but had reverted to normal by the time the vets saw him.
