One Hexham runner tomorrow ahead of a busy weekend

By |2025-11-06T17:56:06+00:00November 6th, 2025|

Very mild this afternoon, extraordinarily so for November.  Another busy weekend looming, just one runner in the end at Hexham tomorrow then eight at Kelso on Saturday and hopefully two at Carlisle on Monday.  Will be hoping for some better results as didn't have the best time last weekend, hopefully just a series of unfortunate coincidences [...]

Wetherby tomorrow…

By |2025-10-30T16:52:18+00:00October 30th, 2025|

Light frost this morning, bright and quiet and a useful schooling morning.  Plenty of horses ready to run now and we are planning a busy weekend, that will kick off at 4.45am tomorrow when Becca and Jess will head off to Wetherby, where we start with Beat the Retreat running in the Charity Race at 11.50 [...]

Ballyfort wins at Kelso, where now for Elvis and other plans

By |2025-10-26T16:30:38+00:00October 26th, 2025|

Cold again today, north wind, brighter now after a soggy morning.  A tough and perhaps fortuitous win from Ballyfort at Kelso yesterday, battling back after being headed on the run in - delighted as he isn't straightforward, hopefully more to come.  My Lady Elektra made a very satisfactory start to her chasing career, finishing 4th only [...]

A rare Perth October Meeting tomorrow, 6 runners for the team.

By |2025-10-20T17:11:33+01:00October 20th, 2025|

Misty and autumnal today after a wet night and the ground at Perth has eased for tomorrow's fixture.   The first October fixture at the track for many decades and probably the last as it has been dropped for 2026, a shame as it has attracted 72 runners for a competitive 8 race card including 6 from [...]

A Carlisle runner, general update with some interesting media

By |2025-10-16T10:08:08+01:00October 15th, 2025|

After a spell of dull and misty days the sun has broken through to give us more beautiful autumnal weather.  Dry conditions are certainly having an impact on field sizes for the early jumps fixtures though Carlisle tomorrow hasn't fared badly at all with 55 runners lining up for a seven race card including our own [...]

Runners at Perth and other news

By |2025-09-23T15:47:25+01:00September 23rd, 2025|

Bright and sunny, quite cold, beautiful autumnal weather.  The Team have been doing a fabulous job preparing the horses and we are now ready to run our "advance party" at Perth's September meeting which is always a special gathering at the end of summer as thoughts turn to our winter sport.  We have three runners declared [...]

Two Monday runners at Perth and GNR debrief…

By |2025-09-07T18:28:28+01:00September 7th, 2025|

Mild and breezy down here on south Tyneside this afternoon. A tremendous effort from Kit in the Great North Run, completed in 1h 33.38mins despite being held up for over an hour at the start and hence meeting significant trouble in running - 1850th of the 60,000 runners.  Slightly frustrating, I sense he may be back [...]

The Great North Run and the Injured Jockeys Fund

By |2025-09-05T08:25:15+01:00September 5th, 2025|

A fine day, definitely cooler and we seem to be missing the heavier rain affecting the South.  Horses seem in a good place, only two race fit at this stage - Everyday Champagne and Artic Mann  who both hold entries at Perth on Monday.  Have to see what the weather is going to do and meantime [...]
