Colder today, strong winds with passing showers. Wet at Hexham today ahead of their fixture tomorrow where we have three declared runners. Ground is currently good with good to soft places but ought to ease a bit which will suit two of our runners (Eagle’s Cairn & Ned Tanner) but we would withdraw the third (Half Track) if it ends up soft.
Eagle’s Cairn kicks things off in the Maiden Hurdle at 14.11; whilst he is technically eligible for handicaps we have decided that he would benefit from more experience in novice/maiden company and this race looks ideal, hopefully he can take a little step forward tomorrow – Bruce rides and 13 run.

If they miss the worst of the rain Half Track will run in the 16.11; he has been out of form this season but has always appeared fine at home so I am hoping the short break since he last ran and some better ground will see him back to somewhere near his best, if we can revitalise him he is going to prove very well handicapped at some point – Dom rides and 16 run.

Finally Ned Tanner runs in the 16.41; he has been below his best on his last two starts and I’m not really sure why but we’ve changed a few things so I hope that he will show his old form. Creeping down the weights (slowly!) and first trip to Hexham so track is an unknown – Sean rides and 6 run.

I have recently become aware that Louisa Milne Home remains seriously ill in hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a fall at the end of last month. Louisa was a big help here some years ago applying her wonderful skills as an eventer to our racehorses and teaching us things to do with them that are now embedded in our training. I just wanted ensure all were aware and I know you will join me in praying that she makes a full recovery and sending love and support to her and all her family at what must be a such a difficult time.
