Quiet weather today, chilly but settled. Delighted with Platin Moon winning at Ayr yesterday, wonderful for his owners and the team and hopefully he can go on from here. Plenty of encouragement from our other seven runners including pleasing placed efforts from Just an Artist, Jirko, Better be Definite, Kingsman Mail and Oor Wish who made an excellent debut.

On to Newcastle tomorrow where we have two declared runners on ground that is described as good to soft with good places, a dry year so far in the East. Both maiden hurdlers having their second start over obstacles and not really looking for any more than an accomplished effort with a little step forward from last time. Bruce rides both and first up is Takeyoutotheisland in the 11.45, he’s a nice horse and should run a lot better than he did at Carlisle last month – 12 run.

Our second runner is Eagles Cairn in the 13.25, another nice horse and I’d expect him to improve on his last run – 16 run.
