A bit blowy this morning, a stormy day ahead for our trip to Alnwick. Will be on to Ayr for the team tomorrow where the ground may well have eased further from the current soft as it is raining heavily at the track this morning.
Orkney Blue
We have two runners starting with Orkney Blue in the 14.55, he has run well so far this season and whilst is probably more effective at 3 miles I am hoping the softer ground tomorrow will counter the drop back in trip in which case he should be competitive again – Bruce rides and 8 run.
Eloi du Puy
Eloi du Puy puts in a quick reappearance in the 16.35 following his Kelso tumble last weekend, he’s in good form but has been off for a while and this is a competitive handicap with most of his rivals appearing to be at the top of their game. After last weekend I will be happy with a safe round – Bruce rides and 8 run.
Mark on Travail d’Orfevre
I will be absent from Ayr as will be heading down to York to support Mark in the Finals of the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards. Well done to Mark for reaching the final three against stiff competition, it should be a great evening celebrating the achievements of those who make racing happen.
