Cold and damp today, power off again tonight. Two very solid runs at Wetherby on Thursday with Boolamore Classic finishing 3rd and So Ladylike 4th. Since then we’ve been battered by Storm Unpronounceable which inflicted a fair amount of damage, and much of the weekend was spent in the darkness which has resumed this evening. My fault as much as anyone’s so not great after the weekend we had, but the team have shown remarkable resilience and the horses missed no work and seem well.

On to Newcastle tomorrow where we have three runners starting with Spectress in the 1:20, she got a bit stuck in the mud on her debut last time at Wetherby and I don’t know what she will make of the tapeta tomorrow but she ought to run a bit better. 9 run and Bruce rides.

We then run Atlantic Alfie in the 2:25, a latecomer to the job he wasn’t really ready at all last time and it was only a month ago, but I’d hope for a small step forward tomorrow. Bruce rides and 12 run.

Finally we run Lucky Soldier in the 4:05 (won’t it be dark by then?), he’s had a few minor issues and is a considerably better horse than his form suggests, hopefully he can show that tomorrow. 11 run and Bruce rides.
