The fine spell of weather continues and another brilliant day’s racing at Perth, no winners for the team but excellent runs from Artic Mann (close 3rd) and Dubai Days (2nd in the feature chase).  Ground was a bit soft for Everyday Champagne to show his best and Mack the Man ran very well but needs a bit of help from the handicapper.

Split Stone

Back there tomorrow with four runners and hopefully they will keep the ground on the soft side of good.  First up is Split Stone in a decent looking novice hurdle at 1.32, he had an issue the last time he ran and realistically tomorrow all we are hoping for is no recurrence of that and a completion – 10 run and Bruce rides.

Half Track

Half Track tries fences again in the 2.40 having been running well in defeat over hurdles recently; this does look a tough race but he runs off his mark and if they don’t go too fast and he can get into a rhythm early on he could run well – 10 run and Jamie Hamilton rides.

Theme Tune

Theme Tune is our representative in an open looking staying handicap hurdle at 3.52; he showed definite signs of a revival in form last time at Kelso and will be fresher than most of these horses after a quiet season, dry ground is all that’s kept him off the track recently – 12 run and Bruce rides.

Burning It Up

A few of us have clubbed together to sponsor the Simon Dunning Novices Handicap Hurdle at 4.25 in memory of our dear friend and huge supporter of Kinneston.  It is fitting therefore that our final runner of the 2024/25 Jumps Season will be the last horse that Simon bought a share in – Burning it Up.  He steps up in trip for his handicap debut and whilst he is probably going to be better left handed I’m happy with his opening mark and like to think he will run well.  Bruce rides and 14 run.

Not The Chablis

So that will be that for the season proper but we plan to run Not the Chablis at the Fife Point to Point on Saturday.  A new track and the nation’s most northerly track, absolutely tremendous that the Cheape family have made this happen with lots of help from friends.  If ever a fixture deserved support it is this, Pony Racing as well and plenty of other entertainment it should be a fantastic day so be there if you can – here is where to find it
