Lovely morning, some useful schooling with jockey coach Brian Harding, the horses seem in good form and we were thrilled with Suspected getting off the mark in good style at Perth yesterday in the first division of the Amateur rider’s hurdle. It was 13th time lucky for Kit who has been trying to win this race for a long time and had been 2nd twice. As an Amateur of course he collects no percentage money but I don’t think he was breaking the rules in accepting the £10 Marks & Spencer voucher given to all winning jockeys. Buys a couple of sandwiches and I am sure Sean Bowen will have been thrilled to have collected three of them! We were almost as delighted with Maillot Blanc finishing 2nd under Jesika and were also greatly encouraged by Eagles Cairn finishing 5th. Just an Artist ran as if 7 runs in a season was 1 run too many at this stage in her career.
Suspected takes the last hurdle at Perth yesterday
Back up to Perth tomorrow when we have two runners. Overnight watering is keeping the ground on the soft side of good and we start with Nae Bother at A’ in the 16.25; I remain convinced that he is a much better horse than has been seen on the racecourse to date and despite being 7lb out of the handicap I would like to think he will run well – he seems in good order and we have done a lot of work to improve his confidence jumping wise, ground should suit – Bruce rides and 12 run.

Our last runner under rules of the 2025/26 season will be Gorvennec in the 17.00, another who is yet to show his true ability in his races. He reverts to hurdles tomorrow and I think his two runs this season should both be ignored, hopefully we will see more of the true horse tomorrow – Bruce rides and 12 run.
