Warm and sunny at Kelso this afternoon, ground fast and quite rough at the end of a long season. Anamanda mugged on the line by a well backed Irish favourite that had showed no previous form, what can I say, at least she will remain a novice for next season.So Ladylike also ran very well, her best effort since her win at Hexham last year.
Scarlet Jet
On to Perth tomorrow, day 1 of their festival and hopefully the ground will be very much on the softer side of good. We have three runners starting with Scarlet Jet in the Maiden Hurdle at 1:48. He has been running very well in defeat this season, this is probably his toughest task to date. Hopefully he can run well again – Bruce rides and 12 run.
Maillot Blanc
On a competitive card we have a runner in each division of the Amateur’s Staying Handicap Hurdle. Maillot Blanc (Kit) runs in what looks like the tougher division at 5:00. We have had this race in mind for him for a while as he has good form at the track and we have been looking forward to stepping him up in trip, but this does look tough – 11 run.
Beat The Retreat
Beat The Retreat makes his debut for the Team Kinneston Club in the second division at 5:32 and Jesika has her first ride over hurdles. As ever, he has been a bit in and out this season but he would have a good chance if on his A game – 11 run.
