Cool and showery, a busy week and we have six runners declared to run at Perth tomorrow where the ground is mainly soft. Eagle Ridge runs in the first race at 1.30, 8 run and Lucy rides, he had a good excuse last time at Haydock and should leave that run behind him.
Jolie Crickette (Alannah)
Jolie Crickette runs in the mares hurdle at 2pm, 9 run and Lucy rides, her last run on heavy should be ignored and I just hope conditions dry out enough for her to show her best tomorrow, she’s well handicapped on her French form but will be seen in a better light over fences in due course.
Jet Master runs in the feature chase at 3.10, Lucy rides and 11 run, he’s reached veteran stage now but was a close 3rd in last year’s stronger renewal of this race so could go well off a 3lb lower mark.
We then have two runners in the Amateur Riders Hurdle at 3.45, Dutch Canyon (Kit) and Andhaar (Crawford); DC was a good 2nd at Musselburgh last time and is one of many of our horses who have been waiting for conditions to dry out, if – and it’s a big if- they have dried up then a repeat of his last run will see him go close, Andhaar has also reached veteran status but is very well treated on his old form and will hopefully run much better than his odds suggest, 12 run.
Finally we run Calivigny in the 4.15, Lucy rides and 6 run, whilst he probably looks the most our of form of the six runners he should bounce back if the ground isn’t tacky, if that’s the case he is well handicapped.
Yesterday at Hexham Top Cat Henry was a bit free in front and paid the price, on this evidence he may even drop back to 2 miles, McGinty’s Dream was just creeping into the race nicely when he blundered badly 4 out unseating Lucy, hopefully he will be back out soon.
