A Cartmel winner!

Cartmel is one of those special courses that make British racing so unique and it was a real thrill for Final Reminder to win the mares staying hurdle in fine style there on Saturday afternoon in front of a crowd of 10,000.  She looked progressive and is hopefully turning into the mare we hoped we had bought.

At Kelso yesterday Always Tips ran a much better sort of race to finish 4th but little Accost’s breathing hampered her ridden more prominently so Lucy eased her, she has a lovely pedigree but her wind isn’t good so I’m not certain she should be bred from, we will turn her away now and have a think but she won’t race again.

Also being turned away for a spell at grass is our Goffs purchase Manetti he grows on me every day and looks good value, he is still for sale as I write, next runners Hexham Saturday then Perth Sunday, the most valuable fixture in the latter’s history as the Northern tracks continue to step up the rewards to Horsemen, well done them.
