The funniest thing is happening, the Fife Farmer has decided to bicycle from Lands End to John O’Groats, goodness knows why and as if it wasn’t far enough anyway he has decided to go via Ireland, think that must be so he can put his feet up for a while on a ferry.  He’s doing it with three other old blokes and it is clearly quite a challenge for them as they seem to keep taking the wrong route, I have been following their increasingly painful sounding antics on their blog Four Old Blokes on Bikes which, whilst it’s amusing to me, is probably going to turn into a heartfelt description of the four of them fighting with their falling apart bodies.

Enthusiasm!

Enthusiasm!

It is a massive challenge and I have huge admiration for them as they’ve only taken up cycling recently, if TFF actually manages it I am going to make a chunky donation to a cause of his choice – good luck!  Cool and dull here, just 11 horses doing a proper piece of work and another 11 cantering/schooling, a cracking renewal of the Guineas at Newmarket this afternoon, I shall be watching a cricket match listening on the radio, Lucy at Hexham this evening to ride Forestside in the 6pm.

Some of the Fife Farmer's tackle - will he be back for harvest?
