..before the storms.  Positively balmy at Musselburgh yesterday, stark contrast to 1st Jan, but not going to last with a series of westerly storms forecast over the next week.  Quiet today though, a bit cold damp and dull but not complaining and for the horses a mixture of AW, schooling and some will be on the grass 3rd lot.  A thoroughly promising run from Bracing yesterday to finish 2nd at 28-1 in her first handicap, delighted with her, Presently Tipsy travelled well enough for long enough to give plenty of encouragement for the future, retrieval mission accomplished.

A busy and productive few days racing, five 2nds from our 12 New Year runners, a touch of seconditis perhaps but I will settle with that for now after a touch of “PU-itis” before Xmas!   No racing for us now until the weekend when we have entries at Wetherby on Saturday, Kelso on Sunday and Ayr on Monday – a chance to shuffle a few horses around & amongst that delighted to see Jet Master back here from Milldeans to resume training tomorrow.  Lucy at Sedgefield today where she rides Un Guet Apens in the 2.30.  Some excellent pictures from yesterday from Frank and Dennis, allowing me to put a nice little “pre-during-post” montage of Bracing’s day yesterday.
