A fine winter’s day, sunny and reasonably mild, able to use the grass for the first time in a while and plenty of schooling this morning for Standintheband, Another Mattie, Ceilidh, Dutch Canyon, Calivigny, Royal Chatelier, Clan Chief and, last but not least, Buffalo Ballet.  Still a little frost deep in the ground on the grass where we do faster work but hopefully we will be busy on that tomorrow before the next dose of winter weather arrives.

A cracking win for Lucy on Sa Suffit in the feature race at Sedgefield yesterday, very exciting, I listened in whilst driving back from the Jedforest point-to-point where I had been picking up what I hope will prove to have been a good value purchase from the Brightwells Sale at Cheltenham.  It wasn’t until well into Saturday evening that we managed to agree the purchase of The Bishop, delighted to secure him and even better news – he is for sale!  Please have a look here at his pedigree, the video of his win and a review of that win.  Logistics are always a bit of a headache in those circumstances so I was therefore very pleased to have him home at Kinneston at teatime on Sunday, many thanks to Jim Brown and Iain Jardine for facilitating this.
