Clan Legend, Caught in the Act and Ceilidh

A certain level of commitment is required to take horses to work on a racecourse after racing on a Bank Holiday evening and I was very grateful to Toni, Liam, Lucy and Kit for their efforts last night; two young unraced Presenting fillies (Presenting Rose and Presently Tipsy) were the beneficiaries and  handled the occasion very well which should be a huge benefit to them when they appear on the racecourse for real in the next few weeks.  Caught in the Act went along as well, playing some mind games with him after his recalcitrant display at Carlisle last week.  Thanks also to Musselburgh racecourse for allowing us to come and delighted that their progressive approach to scheduling this controversial fixture was rewarded with a huge crowd with people of all ages enjoying a fun family day out in glorious sunshine, why shouldn’t they, like it or not racing has to compete for the “leisure pound” and open its doors when people are available to come and enjoy it.  It is tough for those that work in the industry but surely a better answer is to have a few non racing days on those days that nobody wants to come?

Wonderful weather again today, 28 horses working and canters for those that ran earlier in the week, all eyes on Perth entries now and of course Fife point-to-point on Saturday, need two more winners to trigger the end of season party, where will they come from – might have to try to “fix” the Members Race, some images from first lot this morning…
