A lovely warm late summer’s day, perfect.  No runners at Perth tomorrow, hopefully a few for the late September meeting but good to see thier poor entries have converted very well into declarations and an excellent looking card beckons so I suspect I will sneak up there for a few hours.

Allthekingshorses, one of many to have done very well here this summer.

Won’t be there on Tuesday though, Doncaster Sales, a good mixed catalogue there with plenty to offer, horses off the flat, some rejects from the big owners – should be good trade, do join me there or give me a call if you could be tempted – here’s the catalogue.

This lot appear very placid now, less so when they were found charging down the gallop earlier this morning!

A morning catching up in the office then a mooch round the farm, just love watching the horses in their natural state chilling in the fields on their day off, they all did lots of work yesterday and have a big week coming up so an easy day well deserved; not just mooching though, marking out the schooling ground for the fences going out next week.  We are lucky to have plenty of space and we can position them on ground that hasn’t been used for 3 years and is in perfect order, we’ve managed the sward differently this summer as well which has produced good results.  A busy week coming up but for now off to catch up with the family in Edinburgh for a celebratory lunch….

Schooling will start this week over our "line" - tyres, hurdle, tyres, barrels, baby fence - boom!
