Fine weather, warm and sunny, a couple of decent showers over the weekend and growing and grazing conditions pretty well perfect, after two such wet summers it almost feels as if this one might be OK.  The Paddy Premium a non-runner at Hexham on Saturday, ground, it happens at this time of year but a splendid winner for Lucy on Presenting Junior under a typical never-say-die ride just getting up on the line, she is off to Carlisle this afternoon then Hamilton on Wednesday and probably Ripon on Thursday.  All eyes on Ascot of course which just seems to get better year after year, one day we will have a runner in one of the Stayers Races, not yet though, only possible runner for us this week is Flaming Thistle at Hexham on Saturday, he will need rain to run, either way he will be for sale after that – 2nd of 15 in his last point-to-point he is a rock sold ride, a good looking horse (made £60k unbroken at the Derby Sale 5 years ago), a maiden under all codes and he will make a proper schoolmaster point-to-pointer and hunter, we just won’t have room for him here.P1040538
