Well, what started in March as a premature spring has definitely turned into a slow spring, cool, the odd sunny spell but regular bouts of rain, just need it to warm up a little bit so we can turn more of the horses away to grass.
Plenty going on with about 15 working on the all-weather this morning, the weekend runners out for a hack and some youngsters to bring on.
An interesting demonstration from Mick Naughton of Equinity a wide ranging stable management system that combines heart rate monitoring with Garmin GPS technology; we use Garmin already quite a lot to compare speeds between different gallops, I find it very useful to have quantitative confirmation of what I think I am seeing.
Hmmm, of course the best thing will be having it all online, preumably it will integrate with the periscope and heat detecting leg wraps, so while I am sitting on the beach with the iPad I can monitor the horses’ heart rates and speed on the gallops, bliss, won’t be able to take photos for owners ………. pictures of horses will no doubt change to something like this
