A beautiful morning, still on the cool side and plenty going on here despite only 9 horses to ride after a busy two days at Perth.  Another mixed day yesterday with Calivigny and Presenting Rose running bang up to their best to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively, Marlee Mourinho jumping well for a long way but ultimately producing a laboured effort in the latter stages and Jane’s Fantasy weakening very quickly after appearing to enjoy herself making the running for a mile and a half.

So, 10 runners over the two days producing two 2nds, one 3rd, three 4ths, 3 also rans and a PU – not bad but it is winners that count so overall a little disappointing – at least all the horses are back home sound and well but further investigations will have to be done re the three that disappointed – Marlee Mourinho, Presently Tipsy and Jane’s Fantasy.

The on course vets provide an excellent service in many ways, after Jane's Fantasy's disappointing run they checked her heart and gave her an endoscopic examination - all OK.

No runners under rules for at least 10 days but intend to be represented at the Haydon point-to-point on Sunday, Lucy is at Aintree this evening to ride Lord Wishes in the 8.10.  We have been lucky enough to acquire two exceptionally nice horses privately in Ireland over the last two weeks but still have a little more business to do to build the equine team for next season.  With that in mind we will be at Doncaster sales on Monday & Tuesday –  as well as looking for horses for individual owners we are also intending to form a couple of new small partnerships – please do contact me if you are interested in joining in.
