A little cooler today, has been showery but we have been fortunate to miss the worst of the downpours. 28 in and ridden now so feels busy, giving them plenty of variety in their exercise, rain bringing more of the grass back into play. Perth tonight and we run King Brex in the 6.30, Kit rides, 9 run and the ground will be on the soft side of good. Whilst I don’t think he is very fit and his work has been generally mediocre he has slipped down the weights, he might run well fresh and we are going to try different tactics so you never know… Tomorrow we run The Paddy Premium in the 3.25, Lucy rides, will be a small field and he seems in good form, she also rides Lady Gargoyle in the 4pm, Sergeant Pink in the 4.35 and Laybach in the 5.10.
Last weekend we bade farewell to Tipsy Dara, she has done exceptionally well for us winning five handicap chases between January 2012 and January 2013; I am sure would be capable of winning one or two more and possibly a mares novice hurdle, however we found an excellent home for her point-to-pointing with the Cochranes and whilst it’s sad to see her go she should do well in that sphere and her owner breeder has other young stock coming through.
