Drizzly sort of morning but a lovely day yesterday and a quiet day on the yard with the horses calm and chilled, just a leg stretch on the walker or a spell in a paddock.  A restorative Sunday for trainer as well, very welcome ahead of  a busy spell, a morning spent in the hills behind the farm, an afternoon making plans and the evening at the cinema to watch 12 Years a Slave, that certainly wasn’t restorative, harrowing but brilliant.

The Flaming Matron

The Flaming Matron

Off to Wetherby tomorrow where The Flaming Matron makes her debut over fences in the Mares Novice Chase, 8 run, Lucy rides, ground on the gluey side of soft I guess, her schooling has been adequate but she has done plenty of it and I am hopeful she will ultimately make a better chaser so lets hope she starts off with a decent round of jumping.  Some self-indulgent pictures from yesterday morning…
