Colder this morning but fair, some squally hail showers at Carlisle yesterday and some disappointing runs; Another Mattie appeared to be jumping a little better and was about to creep into the race when he blundered badly causing the reins to go over his head, Lucy did well to jump another fence and pull him up without further calamity, Landecker didn’t travel on the ground and ran in snatches to finish 6th, Frankie’s Promise raced with little enthusiasm but plugged on to pass a few horses for 8th, he is much better than this. On to Wetherby today with 3 runners ridden by Stephen; we start with Presently Tipsy in the 1.50, she doesn’t look especially well treated on her handicap debut, 11 run, then in the 2.20 we run The Flaming Matron, she appreciated the better ground at Musselburgh last time and has a light weight in an ordinary race, unfortunately she hasn’t touched her feed since arriving at Wetherby last night which may or may not affect how she runs, 11 run. Finally we run Always Tipsy in the 3.55, 17 run, he won well at Musselburgh and should appreciate the step up in trip but he has top weight in a field that looks to contain many unexposed types, should go well though.
