.. we hope, a precautionary 8am inspection for racing tomorrow but assuming we are not snowed in our lorry will be well on the way by then; the wind has dropped here today but now we have heavy snow showers to contend with and it is beginning to accumulate, ah, now we appear to be having a hailstorm – what next? 35 horses exercised on the AW gallop without mishap and trying to fathom out the best way to keep the gallop serviceable not to forget the drive.
So, all being well we run Clan Legend in the 12.30, 9 run, Stephen rides, hurdling debut so a nice educational run on the cards. Then in the 1.00 we run his big brother Clan Chief, 9 run and Lucy rides, this bumper winner is a chaser for the future and tomorrow will be about gaining a little more experience.
Then in the 3.50 Jane’s Fantasy makes her racecourse debut, it feels a little premature but with only 5 runners it was a nice nice opportunity to introduce her to the racecourse, Lucy rides.
A nice article about Lucy & lady jump jockeys by Alan Lee in today’s Times, proud parents again! At Newcastle tomorrow she also rides Aristo du Plessis in the 12.30, Avidity in the 1.35, King’s Chorister in the 2.40 and Premier Grand Cru in the 3.15.
