A fine mild morning, I could almost feel spring round the corner and a big squad of horses exercised, mostly working on the AW but half a dozen schooling over hurdles, we might even get back on the grass gallops next week, we sort of need to to bring forward some of the younger horses. Happy enough to have resisted the temptations of Haydock today, grueling conditions that would drain the life out of most horses, very much hoping to be at the West Percy point-to-point at Alnwick tomorrow, on the doubt side no doubt and hopefully back down the A1 to Newcastle on Monday.
We won’t be going to Wetherby on Tuesday but will have some entries at Doncaster on Friday and possibly Saturday.
Musselburgh on Wednesday produced some exciting racing but Jet Master didn’t fire, perfectly positioned turning for home he didn’t pick up, back to the drawing board with him; happier tough with Dutch Canyon who ran well round a track that didn’t suit to finish 6th. Some great pics from Dennis Penny.
