A brilliant day’s racing at Aintree yesterday and more to come today but it is to Newcastle that we are headed at the start of a busier few days.  The ground will be soft after an unsettled and cold week and we start with Lake View Lad in the 2.05, 4 run and Stephen rides, the ground, track and distance should all suit perfectly and he has a great chance so long as his exertions in the listed race at Kelso a month ago haven’t taken the edge off him.  Then in the 3.50 we run Titian Boy, Joe Colliver rides and 10 run, he disappointed over course and distance last time having been a good second previous to that, he could bounce back today but is likely to be seen in a better light over fences next season, this is a competitive enough race for the grade.  In the 5.35 we run The Orange Rogue, Stephen rides and 6 run, he has run some good races in defeat this season and deserves to get his head in front, todays conditions should suit and he is in good form at home but I am mindful of the fact that he disappointed when he ran in April last year, it’s been a long old season but fingers crossed.  Finally we run Massini’s Lady in the 6.05, 11 run and Stephen rides, i thought she would run better than she did when stepped up to this trip last time and am hoping we will see this improvement today at a flatter track on slightly better ground.
