..with a nice quiet Sunday in between; cold, crisp and clear here, a chance to feed the horses myself this morning, canter tomorrow’s possible runners and then spend the rest of the day catching up in the office (smiley face).  An excellent run from Marlee Mourinho to finish a close 2nd at Newcastle yesterday, jumping well and staying on strongly, there should be more to come from him, fingers crossed.  The Flaming Matron travelled and jumped well for a circuit but seemed to back off the challenge when taken on, she is improving over fences, albeit slowly, and we will try some headgear next time I suspect.  El Fontan also went well for a long way but found nothing for pressure, he is better than this so another little enigma for his trainer to try to work out…

Musselburgh tomorrow where the ground is likely to be good to soft, we have two runners starting in the 1pm with Presently Tipsy, Lucy riding and 7 run, after disappointing last time this is very much a retrieval mission and we hope she will appreciate the better ground.  Then in the 2.30pm Bracing takes a marked step up in trip for he handicap debut, Kit rides and 6 run, we would have preferred 2m 4f  as a stepping stone but wanted better ground so here we are, she is bred to stay so let’s hope she runs well.  Lucy also rides Red Tanber in the 1.30, Lord Wishes in the 3.00 and Ca Le Ferra in the 3.30.
