Cold early this morning, light rain that could turn to snow at any moment but brighter now.  Off to Carlisle tomorrow with two runners on heavy ground, Been Decided (Lucy) in the 1.50pm, 13 run, his hurdling debut, he is bred to want further and a nice introduction will do tomorrow.

Then The Bishop in the 2.20pm, 10 run and Lucy rides, he ran much better when 3rd over hurdles recently and could hopefully prove well treated back over fences – track, trip and ground should be fine for him.

A mixed sort of day at Musselburgh yesterday, I wasn’t expecting much from Secret Act but I still expected more than he showed, questions to answer now.  My misgivings re the track for More Madness were justified but he ran a good race in the circumstances to dead heat for 3rd only 3l behind the winner – back to a left handed galloping track for him.

Celestino looked booked for a minor place jumping the last but faded on the run in to finish 7th, can’t seem to find the key to him but we will keep trying.   A good winner for Lucy in the feature race on Rocklim cheered me up and she had another good winner at Sedgefield this afternoon on Snuker, all those hours in the gym paying off!

Secret Act - interesting to see the kick back on the all-weather, there is noticeably more coughing in the stables post race at Musselburgh

Busy on the yard today regrouping and making plans for the next week, physio in, vet in, BHA photographer in to get some shots of Fran for the Stud & Stable Staff Awards, a terrestrial television producer in to discuss an interesting project, declarations, entries, emails and writing the blog of course!

The debrief - alwys hard to draw positives after finishing last!
