A wet week and now a wet Sunday, again, but at least it should allow us to have our first flat runner for some time at Musselburgh tomorrow and the ground at Perth looks like being soft this week which should suit the majority of our runners. Wet in Cumbria yesterday, so wet that they had to abandon the point-to-point, luckily an obvious decision and taken early which avoided us travelling.
One runner then at Musselburgh tomorrow, Andhaar in the 2pm, a 2m handicap for amateur riders so Kit on board and 8 run. He has had two years off and hasn’t run on the flat for five years so this is very much a sighting shot to see where we are and how he is, fingers crossed for a nice run in an ordinary contest where he has to shoulder top weight despite his absence.
Reduced numbers in training here now, riding out 17 and a few of the team (equine and human) starting their summer break, we have a good arrangement with Sir Mark Prescott in Newmarket whereby he takes some of our team on secondment during the summer, at least 3 will have a spell seeing racing from a different perspective starting with Sally who heads down today.
