Persistent rain today on a cold easterly wind, ground changing I guess, a fair enough stable debut from Whybutwhy at Musselburgh this afternoon, travelled well until blowing up turning into the straight, we’ve been easy enough on him so hopefully improvement to come. A busy day tomorrow with one of the North’s double headers, the first lorry will head off early to Hexham where we run Always Tipsy in the 12.50, 14 run and Stephen rides, ground might be pretty soft – we were delighted with this horse’s hurdling debut 3 weeks ago but there appears to be a bit more strength in depth in this race so another decent effort will suffice.
Then in the 2.50 Stephen rides Northern Acres, 8 run, I think this ground, course and distance might suit him quite well and it looks like an ordinary contest. The second lorry heads to Musselburgh where Landecker runs in his first handicap at 2pm, delighted to say Lucy rides and 8 run for this very decent prize. I naturally believe the handicapper has Landecker a bit high but the horse is well and I will be over the moon if I am proved wrong.
Then in the 3.30 we hope Rossini’s Dancer will prove a little more willing for Kit than he did last time, we’ve changed one or two things at home but who knows whether that will have any effect on the course. Freebies all round at Musselburgh today, £10 voucher each for the Bistro from the Owners & Trainers Desk then £5 in vouchers on Signing into the stables, valid anywhere on the course, soft drinks only mind you and not redeemable against confectionary or crisps, drat, they saw me coming obviously.
