Astonishingly mild today, topsy turvy weather, daffodils will be out next. We are blessed to have two brave grey mares in the yard at the moment and yesterday Tipsy Dara toughed it out from the front to defy a carrer high handicap mark and win at Ayr yesterday, over the moon again I was and I was almost as delighted in the following race when Commercial Express defied his age to come with a late flourish to grab 3rd on the line in the handicap hurdle. Earlier Papamoa had run to his form when finishing 5th in the novice chase, we will now look for a handicap for him.
Today at Musselburgh we run Buffalo Ballet in the 12.40, 9 run, Lucy rides and the ground will be good to soft. Not his track but he hates heavy so nowhere else to go, he seems well. Then in the 2.40 we will run Goldtrek so long as it has dried up a bit, she would prefer better ground but won at the track last time out and is in good heart.
Finally, we run Isla Pearl Fisher in the 3.10, a race he won two years ago, he’s a bit higher in the weights now!
