So, Kelso tomorrow, “memorial” race day and always special, one of my favourites, delighted that we will have five runners and three of the family riding in what looks like an excellent card of good competitive racing with very decent prize money up for grabs. Ground should be good to soft, maybe a little bit tacky after a couple of light frosts.

Jet Master

Jet Master

We start with Jet Master in the 2.30, Lucy rides 8 run, he has had a little break and ran very well over course and distance earlier in the season so fingers crossed.  Then Landecker runs in the Grade 2 novice hurdle at 3.05, a winner on the track two weeks ago he should appreciate the slightly better ground and step up in trip, he was given a fancy rating by the handicapper for his win and deserves to line up in this competitive contest, tomorrow we will find out whether the rating is appropriate, 10 run, Lucy rides.  Milano Magic returns to fences in the 3.40, 8 run, Lucy rides, he should like the track, trip and ground and whilst he lacks experience over fences he ran in plenty of point to points when he was younger.  Caught in the Act runs in the 4.50, he has been frustrating since winning over course and distance 16 months ago but seems well now and ought to be well treated if he is back to his best, it’s a very competitive handicap thought with 16 runners, Lucy rides.  Finally Backontheroad runs in the 5.25, Jamie rides and conditions should suit much better than Musselburgh but it’s another very competitive race with 16 runners, Kit will be on board Douglas Julian for Katie Scott in the same race and earlier Lucy rides Scotswell for Harriet Graham in the 4.15.
