A glorious Easter weekend but a strong east wind this morning heralding a change and the forecast for the week very tricky to read so plans must be made to cover every eventuality. With that in mind we have made 3 declarations for Kelso tomorrow though they are by no means all certain runners, the ground is presently good with good to firm places, they are continuing to water and there is a chance of rain tomorrow afternoon. In the 2.50 we run Isla Pearl Fisher, top weight so Kit rides to claim 7lb off, and Bertie Milan with Lucy on board, 6 run and hopefully both will go well.
Then in the 5pm we run Present Potential, Kit rides and 6 run, a course and distance winner two weeks ago he seems in good heart but this does look competitive. Lucy also rides Ballyvogue in the 1.45 and Walser in the 4.25. This time last year life was little tense as we were battling to win the Conditional Jockey’s title for Lucy, I think it should be a little more relaxed this time round, it is a week I love each year with 3 days at Perth followed by our local point-to-point on Saturday, with senior members of the industry heading to Perth there are also various meetings to be had and I am delighted that we are welcoming the Thoroughbred Breeders Association here to look round on Wednesday morning.
