Damp and drizzly this morning, some welcome moisture as walking round the horses last night after a few days away I have never known the land as dry this early in the summer, forecast much more unsettled now so everything should freshen up nicely.  Not too much rain at Hexham today though please where Always Tipsy runs in the 3.50 on ground that is presently on the soft side of good, Stephen rides and 9 run, he was unlucky when falling whilst in the lead at the last hurdle at Perth last time out and should have a good chance if he turns up in the same form.

Always Tipsy

Always Tipsy

Kit is also at Hexham where he has 3 rides – Ueueteotl in the 2.05, Duhallowcountry in the 3.15 and Sharivarry in the 3.50.  Lucy is having a spell in France, currently riding out for champion trainer Guillaume Macaire in the South West she hopes to spend time with one or two other trainers over there prior to returning later in the summer though she may zoom back for the odd ride.  Among the many well deserved honours announced today I was particularly pleased to see Group One winning flat jockey Hayley Turner receive an OBE for her services to racing –  well done Hayley!
