Wow, what an opening two days it has been at the 2015 Cheltenham Festival, relentless, but heading back up North tomorrow where we have 3 runners at Hexham ridden by Lucy on what is likely to be good to soft ground and where there are a remarkable 81 declared runners. Dutch Canyon runs in the 2.20, 10 run, he is one of several young horses that we have that are just getting the hang of the job, plenty to learn still, hopefully he can show further progress.  It is a bit of a judgement day for The Flaming Matron in the 2.55, she was a course and distance winner over hurdles last summer and runs off a 20lb lower this time over fences so really needs to be involved, 10 run.  Then in the 5.20 The Bishop makes his stable debut having won a point to point in Ireland in January, we don’t know much about him yet but he seems to be a big strong galloping type that will appreciate 3 miles over fences in due course.  Lucy also rides Harry the Lemmon in the 3.35 and Trouble in Paris in the 4.55, Kit has a busy afternoon riding Sharivarry in the 2.55, Señor Alco in the 3.35, Tommysteel in the 4.55 and King of the Dark in the 5.20.  Scotswell was unable to be declared for today’s cross country chase today after injuring himself coming in off the track yesterday morning, a speedy recovery for him I hope.
