Happy Easter everyone, an early Easter it is and it certainly feels like it, not many daffodils out up here but fine weather though a cold wind and low pressure to reassert tomorrow for a few days.  A stay at home Saturday tomorrow, sad not to be represented at the “Challenger Series” Finals at Haydock tomorrow, just hasn’t worked out for the few horses we had qualified but delighted to see an exceptionally competitive card worthy of the excellent prize money on offer.  Hopefully we will be well represented next year as this is just the sort of initiative the industry needs, and I believe the prize money can go higher – just look at what is on offer for the All-Weather Championships at Lingfield this afternoon.

No jump racing in the North on Easter Monday which is a shame but a cracking point-to-point to look forward to in Cumbria where we hope to be well represented prior to also having a few runners at Hexham on Tuesday; entertained by Kit appearing as the front cover of this week’s Go Pointing magazine – well, actually most amused by his beard making an appearance – jockeys don’t have beards,  have a lovely weekend.
