Cold now and Kelso fell victim to the frost, disappointing and always a challenge to the morale, especially on a Sunday, but they were decisive thankfully and whilst the lorry was warming up and we had fed the horses early at least a prompt decision allowed me to stop some of the extras staff coming in and we were able to keep most of the owners in the picture as well;  half an hour at that time of day can make a lot of difference.

So, a much appreciated quiet Sunday, chapel at Merchiston with the youngest (16 yesterday – hard to believe, tempus fugit) and now plans to be made for the week ahead, weather permitting Newcastle on Wednesday, perhaps Haydock on Saturday and then the first point-to-point next Sunday…. ¬†stay away winter weather please!
