Cooler this week, showery as well but not bad even if it feels autumn has arrived a little early.  All the facilities in good order and had a fine time training the horses who are now doing a lot of work, with the verti-draining completed earlier in the week the schooling hurdles were set up yesterday; first over them this morning were Jet Master, Isla Pearl Fisher, Marlee Massie and Afterclass and it is the latter two that we are taking to Cartmel tomorrow where the ground is good to soft.

Marlee Massie (centre) - both runners tomorrow will be wearing the Alexander colours - not sure that's a good thing!

Marlee Massie runs in the 2.40, Lucy rides and 12 run, he seems fit and well and will appreciate the step up in trip – he should run a big race if he has luck in running and takes to the somewhat idiosyncratic track.  Afterclass runs in the 3.50, 9 run and Kit rides – I think the combination of trip, track and ground will be a bit sharp for him, he has also been allotted top weight on what is his handicap debut which is a bit bizarre given his achievements to date and he will need to come down a bit before he is competitive – always hoping for a surprise though!

Afterclass winning at Lanark earlier this year with the assistnace of Kit's two whips!

Andhaar ran well enough on the flat at Musselburgh on Wednesday, only beaten 6l by the winner he seems to lack the gears for the flat these days and all being well will revert to hurdling at Perth next month.
