Cool today, but quiet though signs low pressure arriving before the weekend.  Carlisle’s first meeting of the new jumps season and we have two runners on ground that is on the easy side of good having been watered twice this week and good competitive racing at Wetherby today as a result of them applying 40mm over the last few days to keep it from going firm.

McGinty’s Dream with Amy – he will go to post early tomorrow

McGinty’s Dream goes in the 2.40, Lucy rides, 8 run and we are just looking for a modicum of progress in what is a decent novice hurdle, he has been reasonably relaxed at home and we are taking the view that only racing will teach him to eventually relax on the track.

Landecker

Our other runner is Landecker in the 5.30, 10 run and Lucy rides; he remains stubbornly high in the weights but he hasn’t run on the old hurdle track at Carlisle since finishing 4th in a decent bumper there 3 years ago – based on that form he looks well treated!  This track is completely different to their new hurdle track and is preferred by every trainer I know, I think the long uphill finish will suit him and I am hoping he will run well.
