Persistent and strong northerly winds with a sharp drop in temperature indicate autumn is definitely here, all our graziers cattle are home to his sheds and for once the farm approaches winter in good heart.  Quiet day hacking round the farm for some of them today, a pipe-opener for tomorrow’s potential runners and productive schooling over fences for Makhzoon, Daasij, Rossini’s Dancer and Capital Venture, less productive for Little Glenshee who came in with a nasty little cut, a reminder of why I try not to overdo the schooling, she should be fine in a few days.

Jet Master in action over hurdles.

We have three declared at Carlisle tomorrow that will all run so long as the ground doesn’t dry up too much, presently good with some good to firm places on the chase course, Lucy rides them all.  Jet Master runs in the 2.45, over fences for the second time after an abortive start last season this is a very competitive novice handicap and the priority will be to get him jumping well, 9 run.  Standintheband then runs with a 7lb penalty in the 3.20, 8 run, and again this looks very competitive but he needs to gain experience, finally we run Or de Grugy in the 4.30, 5 run, he seems well and may be high enough in the handicap.
