Cold still and unseasonal weather around the whole country. we bought two horses at Doncaster Sales yesterday, Blackmore a 73 rated flat horse who should provide plenty of fun over hurdles next winter and Wicklow Lad, a hurdle winner in March who finished runner up in a good handicap at the Punchestown Festival and should be able to run in decent staying handicap chases.  Just started to pour so ground may be changing at Perth, when I walked it at 1.30pm it was on the easy side of good, if it rains much more I will be wishing I had declared a few more horses but present plan is to run Bertie Milan (Wilson Renwick) in the 7pm, Another Mattie (Brian Harding) and Here’s to Harry (Harry Haynes) in the 7.30 and Backontheroad (Uncle Jammers) in the 8.30 – Another Mattie would be our obvious chance but if Perth misses the (now torrential) downpours then I would hope for a big run from Backontheroad.  Tomorrow if the ground is good Isla Pearl Fisher will run in the 2.25 with Peter Buchanan on board – all being well Lucy will be back to ride at Aintree on Friday.  The pick of the more affordable horses I saw in Ireland was Landecker a 5yo who would be ideal to bring over and run at Perth through the summer – do contact me if interested. (Hail now!)
