Low and behold it’s Ayr again, their sole NH meeting this side of New Year, a shame but delighted to see they have  three autumn meetings scheduled in 2014, well done Ayr, the NTF and the BHA.  The ground should be no worse than soft and we will hopefully have four runners starting with Frankie’s Promise in the 12.55, maximum field of 18 line up and Lucy rides, he has done plenty of schooling since his calamitous hurdling debut two weeks ago and has been very good but believe it or not he was good before his last run so can only shut my eyes and hope.  Then in the 1.25 we run Daasij with Lucy on board and The Flaming Matron with Kit, 10 run, Daasij won this race on similar ground last year and this has been his target for a while, sadly due to the lack of 3m races for horses rated over 100 we are having to run TFM against him, she won last time out at Cartmel and should relish the going, trip and track.  Pause and Clause makes his stable debut in the 2.35, Lucy rides, 5 run, this looks very tough and he is 8lb “wrong” so largely a fact finding mission. Lucy also rides Laybach in the 2.00, Kealigolane in the 3.45 amd Macgillicuddy in the 4.15.

Thoroughly informative day yesterday hurtling around Ireland looking at some good prospects from the p2p field and ready to go hurdling off the flat, I have some detailed notes which I am very happy to share with anyone who might be interested, one particularly good prospect for hurdling at Musselburgh through the winter en route to Cheltenham!
