The most glorious of spring mornings with a cacophony of birdsong and, yes, I can actually see the grass growing if I stare at it hard enough.  Ground will be drying up fast again but change forecast tomorrow and we will declare for Kelso and run if the ground is suitable; Academy goes in the 2.35, Flaming Thistle in the 4.45 and Spinning Away in the 5.20.  Another good day at the point-to-point on Sunday, Noir et Vert 2nd in the Men’s Open and Backontheroad 3rd in the Club Members, good competitive racing in front of a decent crowd, Uncle Jamie riding better than ever, improving with age.  Plenty going on here, horses being turned away, riding about 18 now, a new arrival en route from Ireland, plans to be made but a special treat this afternoon – back on the golf course, the Old Course at St Andrews, the R&A Spring Medal, a practice round might have been wise I suspect….
