Sedgefield. It’s just as well I like going racing because this game can become a little relentless at times, it was a 4.15am start for Lucy yesterday, lorry left at 7 and I left at 9 after overseeing first lot. At Carlisle yesterday Tipsy Dara finished a weary 4th, for some reason I don’t think we quite saw the best of her, not sure why, then Rossini’s Dancer ran a bliner under top weight to finish 2nd, I think this was a career best effort in terms both of jumping and where he finished with that weight, very encouraging after his lacklustre display last time. As anticipated Jet Master was too keen for his own good and fell at the 4th fence. So, at least I can take the lucky shirt off that I have been wearing for the last 10 days, just as well, beginning to get a few funny looks.
So to Sedgie, we run Northern Acres in the 2.50, Lucy rides, 13 run and the ground is good to soft. A course and distance winner off a slightly higher mark but he has had an interrupted preparation, this is his first run for a while and there are one or two well-handicapped opponents. Lucy also rides Presenting Junior in the 1.20, Almutaham in the 2.20 and Rich Lord in the 3.20. An interview with Lucy and me will be on 5Live between 7.30 and 8 this evening, recorded by Cornelius Lysaght at Carlisle yesterday
