Stormy weather, has been windy for a while now and it keeps blowing, hopefully not too much rain landing on Ayr racecourse. A reluctant Rossini’s Dancer at Aintree today, increasingly his way which is frustrating, his last two wins have both been at tracks where he has been appearing for the first time, no coincidence I feel, time to get the atlas out. On to Ayr tomorrow where we have three runners on ground that is presently good to soft. El Fontan makes his stable debut in the 3.50, 8 run and Stephen rides, he has some smart form in Ireland as a novice but has paid the price handicap wise ever since and I strongly suspect he is still a bit high to be competitive, trip is probably far enough for him as well but we have to start somewhere. Then we run 2 nice young horses in the bumper at 4.20, Stephen rides Dutch Canyon and Kit rides Spinning Away, a maximum field of 18 line up and it looks very competitive, we will be hoping that these two run well enough to give us something to look forward to, they should find easier opportunities in due course.
