A mixed sort of day yesterday, Isla Pearl Fisher took a heavy fall early on, Academy faded quickly as if something was amiss after travelling strongly but Issabella Gem gave us more encouragement.  All home safely though despite a few cuts and bruises so I’m not complaining.

Four Fiddlers after his prep race at Perth, today’s conditions should suit better

Today at Aintree we run Four Fiddlers in the 4.00pm, Lucy rides, 12 run and the ground will be on the easy side of good.  Its very competitive but he will like the ground and the track and seems in great heart.

After a trip up to the track to watch the horse stretching his legs in glorious sunshine much of the rest of the morningnhas been spent in  my hotel room trying to wash blood stains from yesterday off my jacket in order to look vaguely presentable today (Oh, Mrs A where art thou?) now concerned at what the chambermaid will make of the heavily stained flannels in the bathroom, think I will leave her a note to explain, heartened though by making it into the Racing Post’s “tweets of the day” column for the first time.

Isla Pearl Fisher (Amy),blooded in battle yesterday but fresh and well this morning
