A fine autumn day, cool and bright and it is set fair for the next week so hopefully The Fife Farmer will drag his troops up here and sort the place out before it starts snowing.11121542_874484322606402_1102422793_n

Perth finished and the melancholy call of the migrating geese high in the sky reminds us of the time of year;  and what a finale it was – a very special day saying goodbye and thank you to Sam for all he has done for the place, the reaction of his staff says it all.  We were up there galloping horses this morning and was again struck by the genuine friendship between him and his team.

Lucy stalked the field for a circuit before she let Jet Master creep through to the front - a well laid plan usually goes pear-shaped!

And Jet Master managed to win his goodbye race and give us the privilege of standing on the podium with him and his family as he bid farewell to the crowd, a day I shall never forget.  Thrilled to bits to have Jet Master back to form, and another exemplary ride from Lucy.

On the way to the start.
